Hello

I got an idea for this blog yesterday night while trying my best as usual to get some sleep. My thoughts do tend to get in the way of that a lot for some reason.
So I used to be a fan of the pop culture music that still goes around and has everyone gyrating to its beats. That's really all our generation cares about isn't it, partying? I'm not saying I don't like partying but jeez does the music you dance to have to be so bad?
It was in early class 11 that I suddenly had a wake-up call. I want music that meant something. Music that wasn't just about how women make some dude's head spin round and round. I wanted lyrics.
So I tried Hindi songs and Malayalam songs. These appealed to me a little but there was still something missing (I still listen to these on occasion though). And then came Green Day.
Green Day was a revelation. They actually were singing about what was wrong with the world and I found a deep attraction to a particular song, East Jesus Nowhere on their 21st Century Breakdown album. The guitar riff in the beginning got me thinking. Was I wrong about that one friend who had advised I listen to some metal? Now up until then, I was anti-metal in all forms. I thought it was one gruesome explosion of sound. And then came Aerosmith. (No, Aerosmith wasn't metal but I'm gonna get there soon)
